Lumen

 I learned something new,

nothing is everlasting in this world,
and we only borrow moments.

A moment
the evening you confessed to me.

A moment
you met me with your eyes,
then smiled at the corner of your lips
after I said something silly.

A moment
your hand found mine by accident
as we crossed the road.

A moment we kissed,
not from lust or impulse,
but from a quiet need
we both understood.

And you said
I was the radiance of the room.

Like morning,
greeting me with sunlight.

I know.
You know.
We noticed how deeply we loved each other.

It was never meant to be forever,
and we learned
that it is okay.
